Kramer Introduces Advanced Technology Power Amplifier

Kramer 904 Power Amplifier Incorporates Class-T® Technology

27 June 2006

Hampton, New Jersey– June 20, 2006 –Kramer Electronics, a worldwide supplier of innovative and reliable signal management products, is pleased to announce the introduction of the 904 stereo power amplifier incorporating Class-T digital power amplifier ICs for superb sonic quality.

Traditional A/B amplifiers generate a lot of heat and they lose efficiency as a result. Class-T amplifiers along with Class D amplifiers are part of a category called switching amplifiers. Class D switching amplifiers have offered a gain in efficiency that has come at the cost of fidelity. Now, the 904 with its Class-T, which utilizes both “adaptive” and “predictive” processing, produces very high fidelity levels while keeping THD+N (Total Harmonic Distortion plus Noise) levels lower than traditional A/B amplifiers. Class-T technology delivers the benefits of switching amplifier technology with the sonic quality superior to traditional A/B amplifiers.

The 904 is ideal for use in Pro AV applications such as training rooms, classrooms, public address systems and other multimedia applications. It outputs 75 Watts RMS per channel and it incorporates an output level knob with a multi-color LED output level indicator. The 904 also has a headphone output and a Mute button.

“The 904 is Kramer’s first high power amplifier and we are very excited about it,” states Chris Kopin vice president of Product Development for Kramer Electronics USA. “Right from the start we have a product that incorporates cutting edge Class-T technology power amplifier technology for the ultimate in fidelity and sonic quality performance.”

The 904 is housed in a standard 1 RU enclosure and it is shipped with rack mount ears. The inputs and outputs of the 904 are on 5-pin detachable terminal blocks. The unit incorporates both short circuit and overload protection circuitry. The THD+N specification for the 904 is 0.06% for the speaker outputs.
