Kramer Electronics Introduces Digital Audio Delay Device

VA-256D is a Versatile Multi-Function Tool™

09 April 2006

Jerusalem, Israel – April 6, 2006 – Celebrating their 25th Anniversary in 2006, Kramer Electronics, Ltd., an ISO 9001 : 2000 certified company, and a worldwide supplier of audio, video and computer graphics signal distribution, switching and processing equipment, is pleased to announce the introduction of the VA-256D digital audio delay, converter and repeater.

The VA-256D is a multi-function device that can be used as a coax-to-optical or optical- to-coax digital audio converter, as a coax or optical digital audio repeater and as a digital audio delay. The unit comes equipped with 1 S/PDIF input and output on RCA connectors and 1 optical input and output on Toslink optical connectors. The VA-256D is also multi-format capable. It will handle EIAJ, CP-1201, IEC60958, AES3 and S/PDIF signals encompassing all the popular broadcast and DVD standards such as Dolby Digital, EX, DTS, ES and PCM with audio sampling rates of 32kHz, 44.1kHz, 48kHz (standard DVD) and 96kHz (DTS 96/24).

When used for audio signal delay, the unit has user programmable digital audio delay ranging from 0-999milliseconds for 32kHz sample rate signals, 0-740milliseconds for 44.1kHz sample rate signals, 0-680milliseconds for 48kHz sample rate signals and 0-340 milliseconds for 96kHz sample rate signals.

“The VA-256D is a really unique solution to a very common issue in our industry today,” states Chris Kopin, vice president of Product Development for Kramer Electronics USA. “In many of today’s audio/video systems, the amount of video processing is significant and the audio can get out of sync with the video image. The VA-256D provides a solution to this problem.”

The VA-256D is powered by an external worldwide power supply and is part of the Kramer DigiTOOLS® family of compact, high quality, and cost effective solutions and is housed in a rugged Kramer TOOLS enclosure.

The VA-256D is currently in stock and available through Kramer Electronics sales companies worldwide.
