When the budget for an installation is £400,000 a client has the right to demand the best. The installation should be visually stunning, sound great, be easy to control, and be reliable. This is what UK Custom Installer Dawsons have delivered with a beautiful mansion in the heart of Dorset.

Digital Home Magazine called it “a house that is quite simply the most technologically advanced we have ever seen”, and in the UK we have no reason to disagree.

Amongst other rooms there are 6 bedrooms, 3 main bathrooms, a games room complete with home cinema, a family room, kitchen and swimming pool. Each of these rooms features a display such as a 50” Pioneer Plasma, Panasonic 37” Plasma or 37” LCD.

If the client wants to watch satellite television with the best quality signal, and wants to be able to watch different channels in different rooms simultaneously, then there is really only one way to achieve this. You need multiple RS-232 controllable satellite decoders, and a large matrix switcher with high bandwidth, capable of handling RGBS signals. In this house, the installer has racked 8 Pace Sky+ boxes, a Sony 300 disc DVD player, a Rotel AM/FM tuner and an Escient Fireball music server, and connected them to the inputs of a Sierra 16x16 PRO-V4S Matrix. The outputs from the Matrix are fed directly to the displays. Crestron control panels in each room allow the client to choose which of these sources he wants to watch or listen to.

Naturally the client is concerned with security. The entry gates, and garages can all be operated remotely, and 8 security cameras watch over the property. The signals from the cameras are fed into a Kramer VS-808xl matrix switcher, and then to eight different locations within the house such as the Crestron TPS-5000 panel in the kitchen.

Throughout the property careful attention is paid to the sound. Beautiful Artcoustic flat panels, many graced with graphics, adorn the walls, whilst Speakercraft loudspeakers are mounted into the ceilings.
