Kramer Introduces the Newest “XL” Series ProScale™ Digital Scaler/Switchers

Kramer Electronics’ VP-724xl, the most fully featured model in their new and “user improved” line of scaler/switchers enters the market

07 December 2005

Jerusalem, Israel – December 6, 2005 – Kramer Electronics, Ltd., a worldwide supplier of audio, video and computer graphics signal distribution, switching and processing equipment for the broadcast, production, security, education, home theater and ProAV presentation markets, is pleased to announce the introduction of the VP-724xl ProScale digital scaler/switcher. The VP-724xl is the most fully featured of Kramer’s extremely popular “XL” Series of ProScale digital scaler/switchers.

The VP-724xl joins the previously introduced VP-719xl and VP-720xl models from the new “XL” series. Based directly on user and reseller feedback, Kramer recently created the new “XL” series incorporating many exciting new improvements over the highly successful “DS” line of ProScale digital scaler/switchers. All three of the new “XL” models still continue the “affordable quality” tradition that Kramer brought to this product category and are ideally suited to the houses of worship, education and presentation markets.

The VP-724xl has the same “user friendly” improvements that were developed for the “XL” series directly from the feedback of actual users and resellers. It has two 15-pin HD output connectors to accommodate the fact that most applications require the use of both a main display and local monitor. It also has user definable aspect ratio capability, built-in 7-watt per channel audio amplifier and speaker output connectors, a user selectable blue or black video blanking button on the front panel, a freeze button on the front panel and a front panel lock out button to prevent accidental changes to the desired operational settings.

The VP-724xl also features the “XL” series improved front panel design. The resolution button found on the “DS” version has been removed because nearly 100% of the time the user needs to set the resolution output just once. Removing the resolution button prevents any unwanted changes once the machine is properly set up. Also, all the red lights found in the old “DS” model above the input selection buttons on the front panel have been removed. The buttons themselves now light up when they are selected. This results in a much cleaner and attractive front panel design.

The VP-724xl is currently the most fully featured model in the “XL” line. It has 3 additional output resolutions not found in the VP-719xl and the VP-720xl. These are the HDTV resolutions 480p, 720p and 1080i. The VP-724xl is also an 8-input model instead of a 7-input model offering two 15-pin HD computer graphics inputs instead of one.

“We are very pleased to complete the “XL” series ProScale digital scaler/switcher line with the introduction of the most fully featured model, the VP-724xl,” states Chris Kopin, vice president of Product Development for Kramer Electronics USA. “This top of the line model has all of the user suggested improvements found throughout the “XL” line and it has the additional benefit of processing 3 HDTV video output rates, 480p, 720p and 1080i along with an extra 15-pin HD computer graphics video input.”

All the models in the “XL” series of the ProScale Digital Scaler/Switchers have all the same great features found in the predecessor line up of ‘DS” models. They are true multi standard video to RGBHV scalers that utilize Kramer’s K-Storm™ Scaling technology to convert video, s-Video (YC), component video, VGA through UXGA computer graphics video signals and DVI signals to multiple user selectable output pixel rates with extraordinary output image quality. They also have Kramer’s FTB™ (fade-thru-black) glitch free switching technology for ultra clean switching between inputs.

The Kramer VP-724xl ProScale digital scaler/switcher “XL” series model is now in stock and is being introduced into the market at the same valued oriented price as its “DS” version predecessor.
