Kramer Goes the Distance with New Twisted Pair Transmitter/Receiver

Installation Solution for VGA signals

29 September 2004

Jerusalem, Israel – September 29, 2004 – Kramer Electronics Ltd., a worldwide supplier of audio, video and computer graphics signal distribution, switching and processing equipment for the broadcast, production, security, education, home theater and ProAV presentation markets, is pleased to announce the introduction of the TP-100 and TP-200 VGA/XGA twisted pair transmitter and receiver.

Together, the Kramer TP-100 and TP-200 computer video to twisted pair transmitter and receiver provide an extendable and branching solution for sending computer video signals over a long distance. The TP-100 transmitter has a looping XGA input, ID bit control and two CAT5 outputs allowing it to send the original signal to two different locations simultaneously. It offers cable equalization and signal amplification for both outputs and can send the original computer video signal to distances exceeding 300 ft. (100 meters) using simple CAT5 unshielded wire (UTP).

The TP-200 receives the CAT5 signal, decodes it simultaneously to three XGA HD15 outputs (DA operation) and relays the input to the next receiver (transceiver operation). It provides two independent, front panel EQ. controls – one for the decoded XGA signal and one for the relay output signal.

“In many installations today there are times when you just can’t pull a thick cable from a source to a destination,” states Chris Kopin, Director of Product Development for Kramer Electronics, US. “For those times a CAT5 solution like the TP-100 and TP-200 is the answer.”

Both machines are desktop, half 19” rack size, so that the two machines can be mounted side by side in a 19” 1U high rack adapter. The input looping capability of the TP-100 and the transceiver operation capability of the TP-200, allow for the creation of a multimode XGA/CAT5 distribution system where necessary.

The TP-100/TP-200 will be in stock and available from Kramer Electronics sales companies around the world in October.
