SIERRA VIDEO AND KRAMER ELECTRONICS BRING THE BIG PICTURE TO WEST ANGELES CHURCH

SIERRA VIDEO AND KRAMER ELECTRONICS BRING THE BIG PICTURE TO WEST ANGELES CHURCH

All 5,000 seats in the sanctuary of the West Angeles Church of God in Christ are the best in the house, thanks to a recently installed high definition audio/video system. When they decided to upgrade their TV and image magnification with the latest technology, the church chose VMI, Inc., a local electronics design company.

The system is powered by a Sierra Video Lassen 3232HD routing switcher and control panels for video system distribution throughout the building. Video is also sent through the internet to parishioners around the country. The correct buffering and distribution of a composite video signal is achieved with the Kramer Electronics 105VB distribution amplifiers. They provide a crisp, clear picture to the remaining analog devices, including the video monitoring for the pastoral staff.

“The church wanted to upgrade its system, and the Sierra Video Lassen switcher was the most affordable and best−performing for its needs,” said Lew Wilson, branch manager of VMI, Inc.. “Its flexibility allows the system to send signals from cameras plus provide an internet feed and streaming video – either individually or simultaneously to all of the screens.”

During the one−month installation period, VMI set up and tore down a temporary A/V system each week for Sunday services. Once the system was complete, VMI trained the church’s volunteers on its use. Each week, it is run by a full crew of volunteers. The system is also used during church and community gatherings, where the internet service comes in handy. The system allows audience comments from the internet to be shown on the big screens.

The members of West Angeles Church are pleased to see and be a part of what is happening each time they gather with their new video system.
